House Rules

Welcome to Williams Creekside Cottage! We sincerely hope you enjoy your stay with us and know that our home is the perfect place for you to experience Wine Country. While we want you to relax, there are a few things that we want to bring to your attention in order to assure your stay is the best possible.

Here are the House Rules for Williams Creekside Cottage.  Thanks for your consideration!

  1. Upon check-in please take the time to familiarize yourself with the Williams Creekside Cottage Guest Book located on the black table in the foyer. Inside you will find valuable information including local directions, area restaurants and instructions for operating the audio/video system/LCD TV’s, high speed wireless internet access and printer.
  2. Although this is a vacation property, this is still very much a residential neighborhood in the quiet Village of Glen Ellen. We sincerely request that you respect our neighbors during your stay. Voices carry in the valley more than you know, so we ask that you are conscious of this when utilizing the backyard for dining or the front and side decks.
  3. Keep the TV or DVD/CD player inside and outside at a low volume. If for any reason it gets noisy, it’s likely the locals will complain resulting in a fine by the local ordinance.
FINES WILL BE ASSESSED FOR GUESTS THAT DO NOT COMPLY.
  4. Please place kitchen equipment in their marked locations to help keep track of the inventory and ensure ease and convenience for the next guests.
  5. Please refrain from moving any furniture in the house or on the patio. If you do, put it back!
  6. Please avoid using the hot tub after 10 p.m. for the same reasons referenced above. Also, keep
in mind that the neighbor’s houses are closer than they appear. Hint, hint, keep your bathing
suits on! The hot tub is professionally disinfected and cleaned weekly. It is set at the manufacturer’s recommended temperature. Do not attempt to adjust the pre-programmed settings. The hot tub should remain covered at all times when not in in use. Failure to follow these instructions may cause damage to the hot tub and delay use during your stay.
  7. Turn off all lights or draw the drapes at nighttime for your privacy. The light switches for the backyard are located in the master bedroom on the right side of the sliding window.
  8. When using the outdoor grill, please note it can be a little tricky to light. Directions are on the grill itself, but you simply need to turn each control knob to the left until you hear a click. Worst case, please light by hand using the long lighter located in the kitchen. When finished with the grill, please scrape the grate and dispose of any leftover food or scraps, etc.
  9. While we provide a cleaning service before and after your stay, we ask that you help us get the house or cottage back in the order you found it in prior to your departure. We request that you leave all used towels in the bathtub or floor in the master bedroom. There is no need to worry about the bed linens as they will be cleaned and washed upon your departure.
  10. Please make sure all of your dishes are clean and put away and empty the dishwasher.
  11. Empty all waste cans into the trash receptacles outside. The gray can is for trash, the blue can for recycling and the green can for yard waste. Trash pickup is one day a week, Thursday morning.
  12. Please lock all doors and windows when you depart.
  13. Departure time is 11 a.m. so that we can prepare the house for our next guest.
